Cima di Rape - My favourite ingredient right now

I rediscovered this delicious vegetable the other day at my local vegetable shop. It’s also know as broccoli rabe in Italy, and translated means turnip tops.

If you are bored of spinach or pak choy then check these greens out. Delicious simply sautéd with oil and garlic as a side dish to a grilled piece or meat or fish. Or classically made into a yummy pasta recipe using orecchiette pasta. Orecciette con cima di rape. The flavour is more complex than spinach, it has that flinty clean flavour that turnips have. Works well with cream, fish or meat.

Check my delicious Cima di Rape Pasta dish in my recipes section.
